Stroller Strides Instructor
I’ve dedicated nearly half of my life to two things that I love: teaching and exercise. Prior to becoming a mom, I was a middle school educator for 18 years. During this time I was fortunate enough to work with my students beyond the classroom walls, coaching hundreds of runners (and “non-runners”) to 5K success, leading summer teen "bootcamps" and designing yoga programs for kids. I was dedicated to building trusting relationships and instilling confidence and strength in each and every one of my student-athletes, and thrilled to have the opportunity to do the same with the Fit4Mom community.
I was 40 years old when my son Luca was born. Despite my “advanced maternal age” and spinal injuries from a pretty serious car accident 10 years ago, I had an incredibly strong and healthy pregnancy. I attribute this success to my active, healthy lifestyle, one that involved daily exercise and good nutrition. Needless to say, I was eager to get back to the gym once I was cleared to exercise, but that was easier said than done. Leaving my son was hard enough, but scheduling the time to do so was near impossible with my husband’s busy work schedule. Enter Stroller Strides!
When I asked a friend about the classes, I wanted to know, “Is this really a good workout?” She told me to come check them out for myself, and immediately I was hooked. Not only did Stroller Strides offer me the daily exercise my body needed, it surrounded me with positive energy, supportive friendships, and the confidence to “get back to my old self” again.
I'm not sure words can truly express what Fit4Mom and Stroller Strides has given me, but I do know that I am beyond excited to be a part of it and look forward to sharing my own personal passion and commitment with every mom on their own fitness journey!
